Glitche derives from the idea of a glitch, error, or unexpected malfunction in a system. The piece emulates refractions of this common human experience and places it into an immersive installation composed of video, sound, light, and sculpture. The concept draws from 'datamoshing', an interlaced video broadcast error resulting from multiple frames of pixels smearing color, brightness, and image together to create visual abstract artifacts. Similar to datamoshing, humans experience adjacent sensations of past experiences smearing, moshing, and colliding with the present in moments of malfunction. The artwork attempts to inhabit the atmosphere of that delicate intersection, offering moments of both visceral intensity and tender rapture.
